The Sphere

the sphere is a first exo-organological experiment (in this case a musical instrument that needs more than one performer to be activated). A sphere-membrane of 2 metres in diameter serves as a resonant membrane for a 100w transducer located at its base. The membrane is modulated by the glove-microphones of two performers located outside the sphere. The resulting lissajous patterns are projected onto the transparent membrane by means of a laser projector. The type of light and reflections generated by the sphere modulates the space and recreates its architecture in relation to the interactions and the amplified sound.
